K Josh Brown was signed off of the free agents list after a good showing in preseason. Brown will back up David Akers this season for the Sharks. In order to make room for the new signing, the Sharks had to let Matt Bryant go.

"We wish Matt the best of luck in the future, as we are sure he will succeed wherever he ends up landing."
